New Vintage Pieces & a Recipe

Ya'll I'm eeking out over these cute necklaces!
I was so excited I couldn't wait to share them!
These 3 "happys" are already listed in the shop and over the next few days I 'll be listing more as I get them made up. But for now here's a peek...
Also, I mentioned the other day about a Taco Soup that I make.
We seriously have it probably every 2 weeks and guess what? It's a Weight Watchers Recipe.
Which is an added bonus, just sayin'.
When I had my first babe, my best friend made it and brought it to us after coming home from the hospital.
Isn't that such a blessing? The churches we've always been a part of have had that ministry where they try and send meals to the family for a week. That was always such a reliever to not have to worry about cooking during that time. And I've gotten to bring meals over which I love cause' I get to be one of the first's to see the new little baby. And if I was really lucky I got to hold them too ;)
Ok..anywho... so here is what you'll need...

1lb ground turkey or lean gr meat
1 onion
1 pkg Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix
1 pkg Taco Seasoning
1 can Pinto Beans
1 can Chile Beans
1 can Corn
1 can Stewed tomatoes {Mexican Flavor}
1 can Stewed tomatoes {any flavor}
Brown meat and onions, then drain. Mix Hidden Valley Ranch mix and taco seasoning into meat.
Then without draining the cans add all of the other ing. Simmer 1 hour.
This is delicious served with Fritos or Baked Tostitos chips.
Then we always put on the sour cream and shredded cheese.
Oh, and one more thing it's really more of a thick consistency.
Saying soup may make you think it's thinner or watery, but it's not.
Much love,
heather.

Unexpected Joy

It is so much fun to be able to make/create/craft something of your own, isn't it?
There is such joy in creating.. for me it was an unexpected joy that came in the moving and making with my hands. Now I'm a doer... I don't want to just sit at a table talking about doing something_ I want to be a part of the "doing".
Over the last year, I've really learned how much this truly makes up who I am.

Anyhow,  I'm lovin' all of the headbands out there lately but some days I'm like "can I still wear these"? Or am I too old? But then I'm like naaah...old is all in how you perceive yourself.
So here are a few of the lovelies I've been working on lately_

I could eat this color...:)

15 Years

15 years ago today I married Calvin Joseph Holden(yea but he goes by "Jode", we laugh cause' we think it came from Joseph?) _he was 20_I was 19. Whew..has it ever been a ride. Haha... and can you say, awful, or just say awww for us in that above picture because we were a mess...just didn't have a clue.

We both have changed so much over 15 years and I always say how awesome it would be to now get to plan our wedding..knowing all, or the little of what we know now.
There have been great times, trying times, wanting to quit times, but we've held on tight & fought for "us" and for "what is ours".

Statistically, the odds have always been stacked against us. High school sweethearts married right out of high school & coming from divorced parents & grandparents on both sides. We've had to learn and sometimes re-learn "us" and how to have a healthy marriage...it hasn't always been easy...but it has always & continues to be so worth it!

Jode and I have one factor that has been the difference maker and that is our love, trust, and belief in Jesus Christ. He is the difference maker in our marriage and how we have made it through. Always at the end of the day we know we've promised/vowed before a holy God "forever" and we have been so blessed for it along the way.

Our story is by far a perfect one... but it's our story and everyday another page is being written. These past 15 years have flown by and so I know the next 15 will probably do the same. But I'm excited/hopeful/expectant to see where God leads us/takes us in this journey. Good things are behind us, but greater things are ahead for us..... I can't wait!;)

One person could be overpowered.
But two people can stand up for themselves.
And a rope made out of three cords isn't easily broken.  Ecclesiastes 4:12

Ok. so since today is our anniversary & all..I wanna do something kinda out of the box. Aren't these earrings the cutest...I know, they're everywhere, right. Well,...if you would like a pair of these cuties, you don't have to do anything for me. I want to give you a pair...just because.. just a little "happy" for today. Now obviously, you will have to leave a comment so that I can contact you about sending them to you. But that's it...yay for cutesy earrings and for
Happy Anniversary's!

Necklaces, Rings, & Earrings, oh my!

Here's a peek into what I've been up to lately.
I've been making things....rings, necklaces, bobby pins, earrings, and I'm lovin' each one. The hardest part is deciding what I will keep for myself and which ones I will give away, etc. The girls want to wear a different one everyday.

Anyhow, my kids only have a week and a half left of school and I've decided to give Grayson's teacher a necklace. She has been so great, not counting when he sees her, how his face lights up.
It's too sweet.
After trying to decide what to get her I thought, why not give her a necklace. And the more I thought about it... it was perfect. She helped my Gray to bloom into the young man he is now today, a year later, and we are so thankful for her! Thank you to Mrs. Addison and to all the wonderful teachers out there who've made a difference in my kids lives. You are the best!
