Fish Kissing

The past couple of weeks we've been to this park and that park.
Just letting the dog roam free and the kids play.
I may have played some too.
This was one of those days.....

a perfect one.
Happy Thursday! :)

Embracing the Camera

I can't get enough of these faces.
They have my heart.

These girls and their funny shenanigans.

And of course, when I'm beside him he makes my heart beat faster.

Flowers

We've had flowers in our house for the past 2 weeks just bc. It started when my girls picked some from the side bush in our yard and brought them in to me. Then I picked some up from Wal-Mart bc i love to see them sitting on the kitchen counter. And these flowers pictured probably don't look like much but it's really more about what they stand for. They're about a daddy & momma who want to make sure their daughters are being wooed by the right people_ ...with the things that little girls dream about. Like chocolates_ balloons_ flowers_ pretty things.

Valentine's Day has me thinking all kinds of thoughts bc of it being right upon us. I get that flowers and chocolates and stuffed animals are just things. It's about the cuddles_ the comfort_ the teaching_ the sharing of_ the love, love, love and so much more than any mere monetary thing. But i also know that us females have an inner desire and an eye for pretty, or if your like me, a stomach for some good milk chocolate.

And then i think about Jesus and all the ways he woos me
by the flowers in the field
the clouds in the sky
by His peace I receive
by the friend that calls
by my children's arms that wrap tightly around my neck
by His words that i read..... He woos me.

And I want my kids to see and know that it is He who wants/desires it all.....all of their affections.
I'm not sure this is even coming out right or making sense like it does in my insides but sometimes that's just how the writing goes. It just spills out and over and onto this page....

What I know is there will come the day when she will be wooed by a boy, a man, her future husband, but for now her daddy is that person and he/we want to woo her well. That's all.
happy Thursday!

Nothing But Cold.... and Blue Skies

Here in South Carolina the weather has been cold.
I'm sure this is nothing compared to some of my friends in North Dakota_ Colorado and such
but for us and what these body temps are used to... it's bundle up time cause' if not
your hands & face are going to freeze off.
The last few mornings and nights have been our coldest temps of the year.
But our skies are so blue and that seems to make it ok.

I remember our time living in Pennsylvania and in the winter the skies were so grey which I never
had been used to beings I'm from Louisiana.
So I remember waking up at my MIL's house in Mississippi that 2nd year after living there
and seeing the bluest sky out the window.
It was beautiful ... and had such an impact that I told myself I would never take them for granted again.
It may be January and a little blah-like but we still have not.a.cloud.in.the.sky and they're a pretty blue.
And I still have these girlys_ guy(not shown)_ and my hubs to keep me company
which makes it all the better. ;)

It's a beautiful day

Today is Thursday and so that means it's time to

Tuesday the girls and I decided to have a picnic. It was the day before school started_  I had had to go run some errands that morning_and all I kept feeling was the "momma guilt". This was there last day home and I wanted to do something kinda fun for them. Not spend the day grocery shopping.
Grayson had gone to work with his dad so it was just us girlies together. But everything seemed to be working against us. I had a zillion & 1 things I needed to get done plus I've had a sinus infection or a cold of some kind for around 4 days now. I have felt yucky. It's zapping my energy level and I rarely feel bad and I don't do well feeling bad. :)
Anywho they kept begging for chic-fil-a while out picking up some snacks & groceries. So I caved and we went through the drive thru. We came home and I was racking my brain trying to think of what we could do...something that didn't require a lot of "energy".
I finally told them to go get the blanket and we would have a picnic outside. They gathered our things and we went out under our favorite tree in the backyard.
Nothing fancy...but to them it was... uninterrupted time that speaks you are more important.
I left my phone, the computer, and we just sat & played.
I think I may have enjoyed it more than them.
Thanks to chic-fil-a and our kids meals we were able to be entertained by playing with our prize,  Pictureka. Then they got tired of that and we had to get our UNO on for a bit.

Once again I was reminded ... it's the little things...that mean so much.
Like Polynesian Sauce...gosh it's so good....
A kind word_ a hug_ a smile_ unplugging_ time spent_ being present amidst all the chaos_
the world in which we live seems to scream chaos.
The have to have_ have to get_ have to be.
Yet I'm reminded we can have the present and that can be.... just enough. :)
